GOKYO CHOLA PASS EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK
Gokyo Chola Pass Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most adventurous trekking routes in Everest region. Sometime this trekking trail is also known as Everest Circuit trek. It follows the route of Cho-La Pass , Gokyo to the Everest Base Camp. This trek provide you best opportunity to explore the lifestyle of the Himalayan Sherpa people, their religion, customs and traditions. Alluring birds like the golden eagle, snow pigeon, red-billed and yellow-billed coughs and flowers like rhododendron, magnolias, blue pine, chir pine, juniper and hemlock make the trekking a delight for nature lovers as well as panoramic Himalayan scenery including the Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt Lhotse 8516m, Mt. Cho Oyu 8201m, Mt. Nuptse 7855m, Mt. Pumori 7161m, Mt. Changaste 7550m, Mt. Lingterin 6679m, Mt. Amadablam 6856m, Mt. Thamserku 6723m, Mt. Kantega 6685m, Mt.Kusum Khagaru 6367m, Mt.Kongde 6011m, Mt. Khumbila 5761m(God of the Khumbu), Mt. Twache peak 6367m, Mt. Cholaste 6335m ,Island peak 6179m, Lobuche peak 6145m,Pokalde peak 5806m, Honku south peak 6119m and the beautiful Gokyo lake. Gokyo Ri 5350m, Cho La pass 5420m and Kala pattar 5545m are the main three views points of this trekking route.
This trek begins after a magnificent 35 minutes flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Then we follow the Dudh Kosi valley Phakding to Namche Bazaar, Dole, Machhermo, Gokyo lake, Cho la pass, Everest base camp . From the Gokyo Ri you can enjoy stunning mountain including Everest, Makalu and Cho Oyo. From Gokyo lake, we follow a trail over Cho la pass 5420m and reach Lobuche , Gorakshep, Everest base camp 5463m and Kala Patthar 5545m. After the ascent of Kala Pattar 5545m and the impressive up-close view of Everest, our return route passes through Tyangboche, a magnificent location with a fascinating monastery. The treks continue via Namche Bazaar to Lukla then by fly back to Kathmandu.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival at Kathmandu Airport, office representative will met and greet you. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at Hotel
Day 2
Trek preparation, half day sightseeing and spa retreat at Ananda natural Therapy Center. Overnight at hotel
Day 3
In the morning fly from Kathmandu to Lukla ( 2800m) , then trek to Phakding (2610 m). Walk approximately 3 – 4 hours. Overnight at Tea House
Day 4
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar ( 3440 m ) , its 5-6 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House
Day 5
Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar
Day 6
Trek from Namchhe Bazaar to Phortse which is 5 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House
Day 7
Trek to Machhermo (4470m), which is 5-6 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House.
Day 8
Trek to Gokyo (4790m) , which is 5-6 hours walk. Overnight at tea House
Day 9
Early in the morning trek to Gokyo Ri (5364m) to see the view, then back to Gokyo. Its 5-6 hours walk. Overnight at Tea house
Day 10
Trek to Thagnang (4730m) which is 4 -5 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House
Day 11
Early in the morning cross Chola Pass (5363m) and trek to Dzongla (4830m) which is 7-8 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House
Day 12
Trek to Lobuche (4910m), its 4-5 hours walk . Overnight at Tea House
Day 13
Trek to Everest Base Camp, view the Khumbu Glacier and trek to Gorakshep. Its 5-6 hours walk .Overnight at Tea house
Day 14
Early in the morning hiking to Kala Pathar (5555m) , trek down to Pheriche ( 4200m) .Its 6-7 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House
Day 15
Trek to Namche Bazaar. Its 5-6 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House
Day 16
Trek to Lukla which is 5 – 6 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House.
Day 17
In the morning fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. Overnight at Tea House
Day 18
Free day
Free for shopping other activities. In the evening farewell dinner at Authentic Nepalese Restaurant with cultural dance show.
Day 19
Departure
Includes
1. Transfer airport – hotel – airport 2. All accommodation in Kathmandu 3. Air ticket : Ktm – Lukla – Ktm including guide 4. TIMS and Everest National Park Fee. 6.
