Simikot Kailash tour is an excellent journey to Mt.Kailash whereby we explore the trekking in one of the most remote western parts of Nepal before entering Tibet. This tour will offer the unique type of experience which takes you to Tibet's mythical Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, via the hidden Humla valley in Nepal's western most Tibetan frontier.

Starting from Simikot, we continuously walk following the Karnali River valley which is one of the beautiful nature trail to nomad caravan journey till the Tibetan to border town of Purang and from there travel overland west along the mighty Zangpo River and over high passes to reach Mt. Kailash.

At the ‘Kora’ (holy-circuit) trek we take some time to make the mountain sharing trial with other pilgrims that journey to Kailash in the summer months. The walk is a pilgrimage for both Buddhists and Hindus who revere the mountain which was once believed to be the abode of their deities.

After completing Kora we head back to Kathmandu via Zhangmu border. This extraordinary journey definitely gives us deep knowledge about the rich culture of the locals, their unique traditional lifestyle, spiritual odyssey as well as unforgettable trekking experience in Nepal and Tibet together.

Day 01: Arrival

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, greeted by office representative and transfer to hotel. After rest spa retreat (Massage) at Ananda Natural Therapy Center.

Day 02

Trek preparation and half day sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 : Kathmandu - Nepalgunj

Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, its 1 hour flight from Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel

Day 04 : Nepaljung – Simikot (2985m) – Dhara Pokhari (2360m)

Fly from Nepaljung to Simikot, its 40 min. flight from Nepaljung. After checking the permit at Simikot, trek to Dhara Pokhari through up and down hill trail. It takes about 5-6 hours. Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 05 : Dara Pokhari – Kermi (2860m)

After breakfast trek from Dara Pokhari to Kermi through relatively flat trail alongside the Karnali river. It takes about 5-6 hours to reach to Kermi. Overnight at Tented camp.

Day 06 : Kermi – Yalbung (2879m)

After breakfast trek from Kermi to Yalbung, the trail is flat and steep uphill to Yalbung. Its about 5-6 hours trek. Overnight at Tented camp

Day 07 : Yalbung – Thumkot (3073m)

After breakfast start trek from Yalbung to Thumkot which takes about 5-6 hours. The trail is above karnali river and ascend further to Thumkot. In Thumkot you will visit one of the important Shakya Monastery known as Dhungkar Choezom Monastery. Overnight at Tented camp.

Day 08 : Thumkot – Yari (3663m)

After breakfast we start to walk from Thumkot through the trail above Karnali river. It takes about 6-7 hours to reach to Yari. As you ascend to Yari you will fee the changes in the climate, vegetation and landscape which become more rocky. Overnight at Tented camp

Day 09 : Yari – Hilsa (3647m)

After breakfast start your trek to Hilsa, on the way we will cross Nara la Pass (4620m). After pass we will see the beautiful views of Tibetan Pleatue. Overnight at Tented camp

Day 10 : Hilsa – Purang (3772m)

After crossing Frindship Bridge at Hilsa we will reach the Tibetan Pleatue. After the boarder formalities you will meet the Tibetan guide and trek to Purang. In Purang you will visit Purang Gompa and Buddhist frescoes of IIX century. Overnight at Guest house

Day 11 : Purang – Mansarover (4558m)

After breakfast drive to Mansarover, you wll do Mansarover parikrama by vehicle. Overnight at Guest House

Day 12: Mansarovar - Darchen (4600m)

In the morning you will take a dip in Manasarovar Lake and conduct Pooja, hawan and spiritual activities according to your tradition. After breakfast drive to Darchen which is about 2 and half hour drive. Overnight at Guesthouse

Day 13: First day of Kora : Darchen - Diraphuk (4890m)

This is the first day of Kailash Parikrama (Kora ). After early breakfast drive drom Darchen up to yumdwari and start walking continuously for about 6 to 7 hours. Horse can be hired at extra cost those who cannot walk. Overnight at tented camp

Day 14: Second day of Kora : Diraphuk to Zhulthulphuk (4790m - 22kms.)

Early in the morning start to walk , this is a bit complex journey. You have to pass Dolma-La Pass, which is 5400 m. Overnight stay at tented camp

Day 15: End of Kailas Kora : Zhulthulphuk to Mansarover (4558m)

Complete the Kora and then drive to Mansarover . Overnight stay at Guesthouse

Day 16: Mansarover - Paryang (4500m)

After breakfast drive to Paryang which is sbout 7-8 hours drive. Overnight at Guesthouse  

Day 17: Paryang - Saga (4450m)

After breakfast drive to Saga which is about 7-8 hours drive. Overnight at Guesthouse

Day 18: Saga to Nyalam (3300m)

After breakfast drive to Nyalam, which is about 6-7 hours drive. Overnight at Hotel

Day 19: Nyalam to Katmandu

Drive from Nyalam to Zamgmu boarder. After custom formalities continue drive to Kathmandu for about 5 hours.Overnight at Hotel

Day 20: Free day

Free for shopping, revitalization at Ananda Natural Therapy Center or other activities.

Day 21: Departure
