Thorong peak (6,144 m) climbing is one of the rewarding and technically difficult peaks climbing in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Thorong peak is a beautiful snow peak standing to the south of  Thorung La (5416m), the highest pass in the world. This peak climbing is the excellent combination of the classic Annapurna round trek passing through the high pass of Thorong La Pass and rewarding Thorong peak climbing.  Thorong Peak climbing is very romantic and adventurous because Annapurna region is considered world’s best trekking destination due to its natural beauty. Warm welcome of smiling snowy peaks, beautiful landscape of hidden valley, falls, rivers and heart taking and eye pleasing picture of Pine, juniper, birch and rhododendron forest  make you feel in nature oasis. Throng peak is 6144m high so you need to have some experience of peak climbing and good physical condition. Those who want to go high mountain expedition for them Thorong Peak climbing expedition will be good experience.

We can reach on the summit of this peak turning left the base camp of Thorong peak. So, the professional trekkers and climbers take benefits in short time to get summit this peak while they are planning for Thorong La pass in regular trekking route in Annapurna round. The summit of this peak offers splendid views of Nilgiri peak, Tilicho peak, Dhaulagiri range, Annapurna range, beautiful landscapes of Mustang region with the gorge of Kaligandaki valley. It's easy to climb technically for the mountaineers according to altitude and snow level. In the most of the parts, we don't have to use fixed rope, we can progress the climbing only support of main rope. But near the summit, we should climb in 45 degree and turn right to be on the Top of Thorong peak.


 Our journey towards throng Summit starts with 6/7 hrs bus drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule. Thorong peak (6,144 m) climbing starts after we start trekking from the lowland valley of Bensi sahar. Our trekking trail takes us through the Marsyangdi River, lowland farms, villages, forests, falls, hills and dales offering diverse range of flora and fauna and the most spectacular mountain scenery of Annapurna and Manaslu t. The region is mostly inhibited by Gurung people practicing typical culture and traditions. Here you get an opportunity to experience the rich culture of these people and climb through the most demanding pass in the region. After rewarding beautiful glimpse of snowy peaks we will return via Muktinath and Jomsom

Day 1

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, greeted by office representative and transfer to hotel.

Day 2

Climbing preparation and half day sightseeing. Overnight at hotel

Day 3

After breakfast drive from Kathmandu to Drive  to Chame (2670m.) , its 5- 6 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House.

Day 4

Trek to Pisang (3200m.) which is 5- 6 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House

Day 5

Trek  to Manang (3540m.), its  5- 6 hours walk from Pisang. Overnight at Tea House.

Day 6

Acclimatization at Manang (3540m.)

Day 7

Trek to Yak Kharka  (4090m.) which is 4-5 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House.

Day 8

Trek  to Thorong Phedi (4450m.) which is 3-4 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House.

Day 9

Early in the morning trek from Phedi to Thorong-La (5416m.) which takes 5-6 hours. Overnight at Tented camp

Day 10

Preparation for climbing, overnight at tented camp.

Day 11

Summit to Thorong peak (6145m) and trek back to Muktinath (3760m). Overnight at Tea house

Day 12

Extra day for summit incase of bad weather

Day 13

After breakfast trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2670m) through Kagbeni, its  6-7 hours walk. Overnight at Tea House.

Day 14

Fly from Jomsom – Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel

Day 15

After breakfast fly or drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 16

Free day
Free for shopping or other activities. In the evening farewell dinner at Authentic Nepalese Restaurant with cultural show.
